The Afterlives of the Rich & Famous by Sylvia Browne

A common phobia for many of my clients is a fear of dying.  The work I have done with people embracing death and their families grieving, has provided me unique insight into death on an emotional level and has ensured I have studied death and the afterlife from many schools of thought, which is why I have chosen to share this fabulous book with you all.

Sylvia’s latest book offering is The Afterlives of the Rich & Famous, in which, through her Spirit Guide, Francine, Sylvia is able to detail the post death journeys of our much loved celebrities, such as Marilyn Monroe, Elvis & Michael Jackson.  This rich insight opens us all up to consider her question on page 7; ‘Death…..and Then What?’

Death….THEN WHAT?

According to Sylvia, the process of leaving this world and returning to the otherside, which she warmly refers to as Home, begins with us walking through the tunnel of light, many people describe having cheated death.  The tunnel actually presents itself at a 20degree angle, often coming directly from you (rather than a downward beam of light Hollywood often shows).  You calmly walk through this tunnel, with your Guardian Angel and arrive at a grassy meadow, where your loved ones await your return.  Sylvia describes this in great detail and emphasizes on the beauty of this meadow.  Interestingly, if a child under 6 dies, the tunnel is replaced by a shorter footbridge, so as not to alarm the child.

Orientation

Following on from the meadow, Sylvia describes a process of Orientation begins.  This process assists you in understanding the life you just lead as well as reconnecting you to your life at Home.

Initially you are taken to the Temple of Orientation, which you may remember, as it was actually the last place you ‘saw’ before leaving to be born into your current life.  Incoming and outgoing Souls are kept separate from one another in their two distinct sections.

Incoming Souls are those returning Home, which initially begins with you and your Guardian Angel being joined by a Counselor (Orientator) who is there to assure you of many things including ‘ “Yes, you did complete what you needed to learn”, “No, you didn’t go too soon”, “Yes, your family on Earth are all OK”, as well as anything else to make you more comfortable and relaxed.’  The Counselors will also decided if you need to enter into a stage of Cocooning, which is a healing stage using love, womb coloured lights, warm blankets and soft, relaxing music and only occurs if you have suffered trauma.

Scanning Machine

Once fully orientated, Sylvia then describes the next step you take as a visit to the Hall of Wisdom, this helps you understand what your life was all about and what Earth is all about.  This process Sylvia describes, is achieved through a session in the Scanning Machine.
For some who have encountered a near-death experience, often they describe how their life flashed before them, this means they made it all the way to the scanning machine, but for some reason, came back.

For others, you, your Guardian Angel and others discuss your life, your contribution, your mistakes, your highs, your lows.  You get to review, as if watching a movie, your life and discuss all the emotions and learnings your experiences gave to you.  You can view situations from others perspectives and at this point, it becomes really evident that what matters most, is WHO you are, as that is all you can take with you.

Your Contract

Like many, Sylvia believes we are all here for our own distinct reasons.  Earth is a learning planet, and in each of our lifetimes, we are here to experience something new (good and bad) which allows our Spirits to advance back at Home.  These experiences, selected by us before we came to Earth, are contained in our contract which is also known by our Guardian Angel, who is there to help us along the way (but we must ask him/her for assistance).  Sylvia breaks down these reasons, learnings or experiences into themes – 46 to be precise.  Most of us have a primary and a secondary, although some may have 3-4.

Hall of Justice

Post the scanning machine, if needed, our contracts are reviewed in The Hall of Justice, with a council of 22 Elders.  Here you discuss your themes and your contract when if you went off track and counsel you by asking ‘ “Do you want to take on another life under similar circumstances and try to do better or would you rather work here (at Home)?” (Oh yes, we all have jobs on the otherside!)

From here, we decide where we are next best placed and the best options to advance our Spirits.  Sylvia explains all the 46 themes in the book, which once you connect to yours, great guidance to your life’s focus.  Such an interesting read and really does provoke great thoughts on what our purpose here is on Earth and where we may be headed following this lifetime.  I would recommend this book to everyone, as departing this Earth is something we will all do in time; between now and then is our opportunity to have no fear or regrets.
